My position here at Santa Barbara City College suits my diversified interests
and talents. I'm responsible for the smooth operation of the Physics and
Engineering Department. I create and set-up, laboratory equipment and lecture
demonstrations. I also teach part-time for the department. I enjoy the
interaction with our students, as well as the creative freedom of my job.
I'm dedicated to the success of our students.
Flash
Physics
I've created a number of online Flash animations of various physical concepts.
Check them out here.
Phys 199 (EMSE)
Excellence in Mathematics, Science, and Engineering
I lead a problem solving workshop for the students in Physics 121,122,
and 123. In these EMSE (Pronounced "MC") workshops we work on developing
the problem solving skills that are needed by students in science and engineering.
We meet on Friday afternoons from 2:15 until 5:20 PM. We also have optional
meetings prior to Exams.
The Power of the Sun
I work with Nobel Laureates Walter Kohn and Alan Heeger on the Video 'The Power of the Sun". I did the compute animations for the video. I did most of my work on the companion educational science video "The Science of the Silicon Solar Cell". I wrote, with the help of Walter Kohn, the narrativre and did all of the animation for the video. More information can be found at the website:
